OUR STONE – MARBLE

Marble is the geological name for limestone that has been recrystallised by heat or pressure. As a softer stone than granite or travertine, marble is an ideal material for artistic or decorative work. It’s also unique in that it has the appearance of an artist’s canvas; that is, each piece differs from the next in texture, veining and colour, with the latter producing a vibrant and warm effect. Apart from high polish finishes, marble is flexible in its treatment and can also be honed, acid etched, bush hammered or sand-blasted.
