What is marble?

How to clean a marble fireplace?

While marble is durable, it is also a porous material, so it can stain. It’s important that any spill is wiped up immediately, and it should be cleaned regularly.

Here are some tips for cleaning your marble fireplace:

  • Use warm water, ideally distilled water, and a soft cloth, such as a microfibre cloth.
  • Regularly rinse the cloth to keep it clean.
  • Scrub out any stains if possible.
  • Dry the marble with a second cloth to prevent water stains.
  • Be cautious using cleaners, and avoid vinegar as the acid could affect the finish of the marble.
  • Seek expert advice if a stain won’t come out of the marble; depending on the material that caused the stain, there may be a specific agent that can be used to clean the marble, such as a PH neutral detergent.
