    Regular Maintenance

Maintenance of the stone is a must if you are wanting to promote longevity and keep it looking pristine and in a mint condition. Cleaning the stone with warm water and PH neutral soap or detergent is by far the safest and least abrasive way to maintain the stone. Avoid using harsh cleaners that are acidic such as vinegar or bleach as this can have a negative impact on the stone and often cause irreversible damage.

    Sealing

It is important to ask your stonemason to seal your Carrara marble prior to installing to give it that extra protection it needs. It is recommend that you re seal the benchtop every 2-5 years however this is dependent on many variables including its use. The sealer assists in extending the life of the marble by adding an extra layer of protection and preventing the absorption of foods and liquids which can stain the stone. You would need to consult your stone professional for advice on the most recommended sealer for your particular application.
